## Your First 10 Hours

This guide provides the optimal starting path for new Voidling Bound players. Follow these steps to build a strong foundation.

## Step 1: Try the Free Demo First

The Steam demo includes Kwipeck, Gilick (with Cryo Branch), and Kerapin. Progress carries over. Play the demo to see which starter playstyle clicks before purchasing.

## Step 2: Choose Your Starter

- **Kwipeck** — Pick this if you want the most versatile voidling. Good at everything, master of none. Safest choice.
- **Gilick** — Pick this if you enjoy aggressive combat. Shotgun + Counter Stance is high-risk, high-reward. Cryo Branch in demo.
- **Kerapin** — Pick this if you prefer methodical, defensive play. Shield + mines = safest progression.

## Step 3: First Priorities (Hours 1-5)

1. Complete the Vireo tutorial expeditions
2. Level your starter to unlock its first mutation branch
3. Collect mutagens from Frozen Lake and Tech Ruins
4. Do NOT evolve immediately — wait until you understand your species' role

## Step 4: Unlock More Species (Hours 5-10)

1. Progress to Solum expeditions
2. Unlock Kerapin (if not your starter) from Toxic Marsh
3. Start farming Silver Eggs for early Nature bonuses
4. Unlock the Splicing Station through story progression

## Step 5: Build Your Team (Hours 10-20)

1. Target unlocking Ur-Sek (Solum) or Nimiod (Vireo)
2. Both are S-Tier endgame voidlings
3. Start investing Research Points in your main voidling's ultimate ability
4. Farm Solum Golden Fields for your first Golden Egg

## Step 6: Abyss Preparation (Hours 20+)

1. Complete all three planets
2. Farm Aulis expeditions for endgame mutagens
3. Build your Abyss team: Ur-Sek + Nimiod + Morfang
4. Start Abyss runs — extract early until you learn the scaling

## Common Beginner Mistakes

- Evolving too early before understanding your species
- Ignoring element matchups (they matter significantly)
- Not using the free demo to test starters
- Spreading resources across too many voidlings
